CAPTIVEAIRE EXPANDS MUSKOGEE OPERATIONS WITH $4.25 MILLION CAPITAL INVESTMENT

CaptiveAire, the nation’s leading manufacturer of commercial kitchen ventilation systems and one of Muskogee’s largest industrial employers, has announced the expansion of its Muskogee operations through a $4.25 million capital investment. The company will expand warehouse operations into an existing 85,000-square-foot facility located adjacent to their current property at 401 S. 41st St E, formerly occupied by Customized Distribution Services (CDS), bringing the site back into active industrial use.

With more than 240 full-time employees, CaptiveAire Systems ranks among the top five industrial employers in Muskogee. This expansion builds on the company’s nearly 30-year presence in the community and allows it to meet the growing demand from customers across the nation.

“Our expansion in Muskogee underscores the strength of this region’s business climate and the skilled employees who make our company successful,” said Shane McCullough, Muskogee Plant Manager of CaptiveAire. “We’re grateful for the continued support from our local partners as we continue to invest in this community and grow our operations here.”

Port Muskogee worked in coordination with the City of Muskogee to support the project through the City’s Opportunity Fund with an incentive award of $100,000.

“This is exactly the type of project the Opportunity Fund was designed to support,” said Kimbra Scott, Executive Director of Port Muskogee. “The project will deliver immediate economic impact by reactivating a vacant industrial site and reflects both CaptiveAire’s confidence in our community and our team’s ability to serve existing employers.”

The expansion is expected to create approximately 5 to 6 new warehousing positions in the near term as well as free up production space for increased capacity in the current facility that will create an additional 15-20 full-time positions. By reinvesting in existing infrastructure, the project maximizes existing assets, supports targeted job growth, and reinforces Muskogee’s position as a hub for industrial and manufacturing activity.

CaptiveAire’s expansion is the latest example of existing employers continuing to invest in Muskogee, as local and state partners work together to support industrial growth across the region.
